About us
The Hunter Region's business hub, since 1992
We are a not-for-profit business service organisation providing professional services and support to businesses of all shapes, sizes and fields. Working closely with government, industry and our network of Business Enterprise Centres, we are a trusted adviser to businesses locally and throughout Australia.
What we do
Advice, space and a community to connect to
Our services include business consulting and specialised advice for established businesses, tenancy and training opportunities, and affordable office, commercial and light industrial space with on-site business mentoring.
We regularly host business workshops, information seminars and networking events, and the building is a working tenancy in its own right, with room for up to 33 business units under one roof.
Born from a partnership between local companies, Cessnock City Council and Maitland City Council, our goal is to foster local economic development and support businesses across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Dungog, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter local government areas.

Celebrating Hunter businesses for over 30 years
We run the Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards, a celebration of local business more than three decades strong. The 2026 awards were the 31st, and for many members the awards night is the highlight of the business year.
Entries and categories move to the awards' own website, announced through the eNewsletter and here when the season opens.
