About us

Board of directors

The Hub is governed by a volunteer board of local business people. They set the direction and keep the organisation accountable, while the staff team runs the building and its programs day to day.

Office bearers first, then directors. The board is drawn from businesses and organisations across the Hunter, so decisions about the Hub are made by people who know the region firsthand.

A working board for a working building

Hunter Region Business Hub is the trading name of Hunter Region Business Enterprise Centre Incorporated, a not-for-profit incorporated association established in 1992. Born from a partnership between local companies, Cessnock City Council and Maitland City Council, the organisation exists to foster local economic development across the Hunter.

The board governs that charter. Day to day, the Hub is run by General Manager Alena Pople and the staff team, from the tenancies and room bookings to the workshops, awards and member programs.

Hub membership includes the opportunity to attend the Annual General Meeting and participate in board elections. If you want a say in how the Hub is run, or a seat at this table one day, membership is where it starts.
